Nosh: The Rochester Restaurant You Must Try

Be sure to make a
reservation tonight

I’m a carb baby, I’m sure I have mentioned that before. One of my favorite carb treats is bread, literally any type of bread. Wait, I take that back, I am not a real fan of sweet bread, don’t know why but it has never been a favorite of mine. If you love bread as much as me then you need to definitely visit Nosh if only for this one dish. The Daily Bread Platter. The daily bread platter gets me every time, it is by far my favorite item on their menu and one of the main reason’s I continue to return (there are multiple reasons)

If you have never been or if you have never tried their bread platter you are missing out and I feel sorry for you, I truly do. You need to make a reservation today and order the bread platter.

rosemary garlic flatbread with mascarpone butter

korean scallion pancakes with gochujang dipping sauce

housemade flour tortillas with oaxacan cheese

The first time we ordered the platter, it was not what we expected at all…in a good way. We were all expecting a platter of breads, you know plain regular breads with some type of dipping oil, what you would expect from any restaurant. Well Nosh is not just any restaurant. Before I go any further I will say it is a bit oily, at least the rosemary garlic flatbread included. It is not a gross oily (i.e. greasy) but they can definitely over do it with the oil some days. But please do not let that deter you, it truly is a must have. my favorite item on the platter is going to have to be the Korean scallion pancakes hands down.

The oaxacan cheese is extremely thick and gooey, and while it is amazing I can only have a few bites, which is a okay with my husband who would prefer to eat it all by himself. Lastly the mascarpone dipping butter should be a staple household item! Wow, talk about the best bread dip.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]I’ve tried multiple items on the menu and as a warning menu items have and do change. I am not 100% sure if they come back or if they are limited edition entrees, but do be sure to check before you go if you are looking for something specific.

The Beef Shortribs

Talk about falling apart in your mouth, they fall apart as soon as your utensil touches them. They are mouth watering and flavored perfectly and cooked to perfection. There portions are also very large so you are definitely getting what you paid for and I strongly encourage planning on getting dishes to pass.

The Fajita Platter

I will not lie these were not my favorite of the night, however my husband who is a much bigger fan of fajita’s could not get enough and still talks about them to this day. (We did go back in search of these, however they had been removed from the menu much to my husbands dismay.)

This platter is definitely meant to be shared with the table. Steak and chicken were the main proteins and it came with cooked peppers and traditional fajita toppings. It was not a bad meal in anyway but compared to other dishes we have tried from Nosh it was just not my favorite.

45 oz bone-in ribeye, grilled onion + mushroom, house fries, asparagus, crostini, roasted bone marrow

Yes, we actually ordered this $100 menu item, yes a chef actually comes out  and cuts it at your table, yes people do stop and stare to watch the show. People actually stopped the waiter to ask for a closer view, which I thought was a little impolite but that’s just me.  Ordering this was definitely an experience. The theatrics was a bit much but the steak was amazing. So tender and flavorful, and using the bone marrow as butter was something else, let me tell you. This is a lot of food….Do not try this alone!

Korean Sit Down

gochujang chicken thigh, kalbi short rib, charred scallion salad, korean potato salad, kimchi, steam buns, pickles, rice, bibb lettuce.

The Korean Sit Down is definitely a highlight, again this platter is for sharing. The two meats on this platter that I loved were the gochujang chicken thigh and the kalibi beef short rib. The sides are well chosen and pair very well with the meats of this entree. The sauce on the chicken thigh is to die for! I fell in love.

You are sure to love Nosh, it is perfect for an intimate dinner for two as well as a gathering of friends and family. Effortlessly sleek with high ceilings and an industrial feel makes you feel like you are in another city. The wait staff was always kind and attentive, very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I can honestly say that I feel you will not be disappointed if you make a reservation today. Visit Nosh at their website here where you can view their menu as well as make reservations online.

Nosh can be found at 47 Russell St, Rochester, NY 14607, be sure to check out their hours!
